Shelby Baseball and Softball Club
League Registration Information
The Shelby Baseball and Softball Club currently runs only a spring season. While the Executive Board has discussions, from time to time, about having a summer season, no plans have been made to implement summer leagues. In the past, the club has found that participation is too low to put together enough teams for a summer season.
The Shelby Baseball and Softball Club usually has a Registration Day on the last Saturday of January for the upcoming season and is open to all residents of Utica and Shelby Township.
The registration is held at the Shelby Community Center located at 51670 Van Dyke Avenue adjacent to Shelby Township Library (1st light North of 23 Mile Road on Van Dyke).
Those unable to attend registration day may take advantage of Open Registration at the Shelby Township Parks and Recreation Department beginning the following Monday from 8:30am to 5:00pm. The Shelby Township Parks and Recreation Department is located at 52700 Van Dyke, 1/4 mile South of 24 Mile Road. The length of open registration lasts a couple of weeks beyond registration day and varies for each division based on enrollment. Call Shelby Township PRM at (586) 731-0300 for availability beyond Open Registration.
The current registration fee is $70 per child for most of the leagues. Saturday Coed Instructional Tee-Ball was $45. There is a $10 discount for additional siblings. The registration fee covers most of your child’s uniform (hat, jersey and socks) and parents are asked to supply white baseball pants.
Optionally, if you are interested in personally sponsoring, or having a company sponsor your child’s team, you can fill out the appropriate paper work during registration. The fee to sponsor a team is $300 to $750 per team. Interested sponsors should take a look at the information posted within our sponsor area.
