Limit tournament team rosters to 12 players.

Team Manager & up to two Coaches will be selected on first come-basis, provided they have turned in a coaches application and passed the background check. Once the coaching staff has been determined, the manager will receive a team packet, which will include the necessary information to lead a successful tournament team.

As representatives of both the Shelby Baseball and Softball Club and our community, expectations are such that players and those affiliated with our tournament teams conduct themselves in such a manner that displays the utmost in sportsmanship and fair play. Violation of this will result in appropriate action being taken by the board.

In order to adequately prepare for tournament play, teams should be selected and practicing as a unit a minimum of 2 weeks prior to their first scheduled tournament (i.e., first week of May for Girls Softball Tournament). All teams must be selected using an open tryout format. No player may be excluded from the tryouts. Only players who are active on Shelby Baseball and Softball Club teams are eligible to tryout.

• Personal notification to each player as to tryout status is required
• Tryouts in each age group must be completed within two weeks of receiving the team packet.
• All players selected to the tournament team will be asked to pay $25.00 to help defray costs

Team tryouts and practice must not conflict with scheduled SBSC Regular Season or Playoff activities. Obtain field permits to hold tryouts and practices by contact Debbie Cottrell using the contact form on the club’s Contact Us page.

The SBSC will supply jerseys and hats for up to 12 Team Members, 1 Manager and 2 Coaches. Any special uniform requirements (size, etc.) should be placed a minimum of 30 days prior to the first tournament game. All uniform requests should be directed to Debbie Cottrell.

As a SBSC sponsored tournament team you are entitled to free entry into a SBSC sponsored tournament, as well as, paid entry into one local tournament of your choice.
